TO BE CONTINUED....

I have been having really weird dreams lately. The weirdest one I had started last Saturday night. I dreamed that I was having really bad stomach pains and I was told to go to the dentist for an X-ray. So I'm at the denitst wearing that lead vest sitting up in the chair and they come back and say " we found the reason for your stomach pain" they handed me a picture and it was an ultrasound "you're pregnant!" My dream ended that night with the words TO BE CONTINUED....
So, I didn't think much of this and as I fell asleep Sunday night my dream started right where I left off. I decided in my dream that to know for sure if it was true that I was pregnant I would place the ultrasound in an empty box and wrap it up. I then gave it to my friend and said " I am giving you a gift. If the box is empty it means that what was inside was not true." So she opened the box and before I could see what was inside it said TO BE CONTINUED...

I woke up confused and this dream stayed with me all day Monday. I went to be wondering what the answer would be...if it would continue on. Nope, it didn't I just saw the words TO BE CONTINUED...

At about 4:30am Tuesday, I got up and I took a pregnancy test. I guess the TO BE CONTINUED was me taking the test. Sure enough, it came out positive. I couldn't believe it. The ONE month we decide not to try and to focus on something else it happens for us. It is still unbelievable but we couldn't be more happy right now. This has been such a trial for us in our lives, but we are indeed greatful for all that we have gone through and pray everyday that we have a healthy pregnancy and baby.

Per the Dr. I am 5 weeks along..Due the end of Sept begining Oct. I have been a little sick, extremely tired and taking a lot of potty breaks at work but it's all worth it to me.

I know, I know it doesn't seem like THAT exciting of news but it is :) Trust me!

MMMM....

For dinner tonight I had planned on eating 2 small red potato's boiled, a serving of vegis and a Tilapia fillet. It just didn't sound that good to me so I created my own meal. I call it... Best Chicken with Sauce EVER. Just kidding, I don't know what to call it other than amazing. This is how I made it.

2 chicken breasts, boiled or grilled and cubed
1/2 can of fat free cream of chicken soup
1/2 can of fat free cream of celery soup
1/2 can of fat free cream of mushroom soup
1 tbsp of fat free sour cream
2 tbsp of skim milk
2 tbsp of capers

*combine all those ingrediants in a sauce pan and heat til hot*

I served it over a serving of brown rice and LOVED it. I didn't have to add any seasonings and it had a ton of flavor. Steve agreed that this was a fantastic meal. I think the sauce has around 200 calories per serving with 4 grams of fat. I will definetly be making that again. I wish I had taken a picture of it but I ate it too quickly.

What?! No Desk? Ugh!

I write to you today not very enthusiasticly to tell you that... apparently there is no room for us up in my new desk even though it was pre arranged. So, I sit at my little table still. This is one un-happy camper with the desk situation!

Something New

Tuesday is the big day. The day I get to move from this lovely folding table that barely fits my keyboard on it....
To something like this lovely cubicle...

I can't wait to have a couple drawers. Anyone who knows me, knows I like my desk's and things to look super organized so I am going crazy with where I am at right now.

What a great start back to work after a long weekend and Lucky you, you didn't have to hear another blog about dieting and being healthy :)

HAPPY FRIDAY!

Happy Weighing!

I have debated on if I should start a weight loss blog or just bore you all with it.. so at this point, until I have something else to blog about you will mostly be reading about our weight loss journey. Speaking of... I found this baby on Amazon.com and bought it todayI have never owned a food scale before, but realized last night that I need one as I was preparing our lunches. So many products come with a serving sizes in ounces and I am just not smart enough to figure that out. I either way over estimate or underestimate..but no more! I can't wait for my EatSmart Precision Pro Digital Kitchen Scale! Happy weighing!

It's Official!

Yep! It's official...we are committed to loosing weight. I think this is the most excited and motivated I have been in a long time. I guess it helps to have a partner in it with you. Steve is amazing support.

So we decided to start with Monday, January 4th.... so tomorrow. This weekend I stocked our shelves with healthy food choices and we bought a nice scale for our weekly weigh-in's. I just weighed myself on it can't wait for the coming weeks to see the number get smaller as I change. Along with getting some good food for us, and getting a new scale we made a plan that each month I would make a calendar for each of us. On it will be a "before" picture of us, our current weight, overall goal, and goal of weight loss for that month. Since from my last blog I decided that making smaller short term goals would lead us to a lot more success. I have also listed on the calendar our daily goals that will help us obtain our monthly goal. This month both of our goals are to lose 6lbs each. That may not seem like a big number but I figure that at the end of each month we will look at what we accomplished, what we struggled with and change the next months goal off of that. I can't even tell you how excited I am for the journey we get to go on together!
I made the calendars today and put them both on our pantry door. That way they will be a constant reminder for us, and it gives a chance for guests to see it..holding us more accountable to succeed and work hard at this. I don't want to put it blantently out there for everyone to see, but the thought that someone else could see that number I wrote down of what I currently weight and the picture I took..somehow gives me more motivation.
I'm really proud of our hard work and the goals we have set up and especially our calenders, and to finish this post up I leave you with our "before" pictures we took of each other.
